The fantastical Paris Fall Couture 2009 fashion week kicked off a couple days ago in France and one oddity that really jolts you back to reality is the ubiquitous grand entrances of Patricia Arquette, star of the television show Medium, but better known as Nicholas Cage's ex-wife or Courtney Cox's sister-in-law. 

Not particularly known for her cutting edge designer purchases or refined taste - Frock Me! - why  was this ingénue bringing her plump and frump to all the major shows?  I can't imagine Giorgio Armani or Jean Paul Gaultier  hoping for the miracle of her celestial presence. 

Perhaps proper muses formed a union and have become, quite simply, too expensive.

Persistently grouchy Jessica Alba has more than newborn daughter Honor’s arrival to feign happiness over; the perpetually pouty actress may have landed a new acting gig, too—thanks to the termination of a Hollywood romance.

The New York Post reports Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan have ended their engagement, and the Planet Terror director wants to replace his former fiancée with Jessica in the titular role of Barbarella, his remake of the 1968 cult classic.

News of the breakup and the Charmed actress losing her part isn’t very surprising. Rumors that the studio execs wanted Rodriguez’s ex axed and replaced with a bigger box office draw have been dogging Barbarella for months. McGowan tried her best to squelch the “malicious” reports, but production halted when Rodriguez refused to recast the movie with a major movie star in the lead.

Does always angry Alba really have more box office clout than raven-haired Rose? The actress’ last three movies—Awake, The Eye and The Love Guru—all failed miserably, and it’s not really fair to give Mrs. Cash Warren credit for the success of the Fantastic Four franchise. Comic book fanatics would have flocked to those two blockbusters regardless of who portrayed Sue Storm in them. I promise no one watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer because of Alba—just like no one is going to watch The Dark Knight because it stars homely Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Shannen Doherty is considering the offer to reprise her role as Brenda Walsh on the new 90210.  She reportedly is holding out for a bigger payday and also won't commit because she "wants to know what the story is going to be first."

The first review of The Dark Knight is in, and the Batman Begins sequel sounds spectacularly stupendous.

Rolling Stone’s resident film critic Peter Travers got one of the earliest glimpses at Knight, and he raves about Heath Ledger’s last completed performance (he passed away while shooting The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, due in 2009). Travers went so far as to say, "If there’s a movement to get him the first posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch won for 1976’s Network, sign me up."

In fact, the Academy Award buzz around Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker is growing louder by the day.

Christian Bale already expressed interest in donning the Batsuit for a third movie, but director Christopher Nolan seems reluctant to return to the franchise right away.

I’d hate to see extremely talented Nolan abandon the series he started with Begins in 2005. Director Tim Burton quit after the second film in the last Batman franchise, and the two follow-ups after his departure were atrociously awful.

Batman Part Trois or not, The Dark Knight is going to be huge at the box office. The movie's viral marketing campaign has been beyond brilliant so far (the new poster above was just released yesterday, pumping us all up even more for Knight's release later this month).

I know where I'll be July 18.

Get Smart star Anne Hathaway finally got smart and dumped her sleazy Italian boyfriend, "businessman" Raffaello Follieri, and it seems Hair Club for Men model Donald Trump isn't impressed with the way the actress bailed on her troubled man right before his arrest. 

The tasteful toupee owner said, "She hasn't remained very loyal to him, has she? So when he had plenty of money, she liked him, but then after that, not as good, right?" 

I wish Rosie O'Donnell was still on The View to state the obvious: Donald Trump has no room to judge the ethics and morality of others! The wealthy New Yorker has cheated on virtually every woman he's ever been involved with, and he has children with three different women. Not exactly the patron saint of virtue, if you ask me! 

At first I thought Prince of Propriety Donald was probably hoping to incite another feud with someone more famous than himself to help publicize one of his horrible upcoming projects, but this Anne attack may actually be coming from a very sincere place. Think about it: The Donald's absolute worst nightmare must be running out of money and being abandoned by all his elitist "friends" as a result. 

His second worst nightmare? Getting less media attention than someone else! And that's precisely what's happened as a result of Trump Tower resident Follieri's embezzlement scandal and subsequent arrest. 

"I walked out of Trump Tower this morning and there was paparazzi all over the place, so I naturally thought they were waiting for me and I said, 'How badly do you want my picture?' And they said, 'No, no, no, Mr. Trump. Not your picture. Raffaello!'" the Hathaway hater told Access Hollywood.

Imagine the look on Trump's face when the paparazzi said they wanted someone else's picture. Priceless!
